Girlfriends

My dear friends Rachel and Megan from college came into town on a snowy, icy Friday night....along with sweet Zilani, Rachel's 20-month-old daughter. And when I say sweet...I mean SOOOOOO sweet. Just look at her preciousness:

We had a fabulous weekend in Ohio...going sled riding on Saturday morning in the 2+ feet of snow, talking, talking, talking, being surprised by our fave red-headed college friend Kara on Saturday afternoon, going out to dinner, talking, talking, laughing, enjoying one another's company. The boys loved having extra commotion and Mason was happy to allow the girls to sleep in his bunk beds--such grande accommodations we have here at The Best House... ;-)

And, we had a little drama on Sunday morning, when Rachel received the call that her flight was cancelled because the Cleveland airport was shut down with no power....but it all worked out and we ended the weekend together with a quick drive to the Pittsburgh airport where both were able to get flights out within 20 minutes of each other.

Pilgrim's Progress

We got anxious after 2 vacant home comments ;-) Which I still feel were mostly unwarranted and ridiculous. And so we decided to knock out some projects this fall to spruce up the homestead.

Tim painted the front of the house, put up new shutters, added a tier to the front flower bed, painted the front door to match the shutters (navy), installed a new storm door (not pictured), and we mulched the front beds for plants in the spring...and it just looks so nice and warm and inviting...and inhabited!! I pity the fool that makes any type of home comments to me now....!!

We have spent some time outside on beautiful fall days...We raked the leaves into a big pile at the bottom of the slide. The boys LOVED it!! And the camera loves pictures on crisp & sunshiney fall days!!! Enjoy!!

Couch Time

Lots of couch time has been accumulated during the last weeks of not feeling well. Both boys alternated in falling asleep while watching some videos from the library. You know they're sick when they can't make it through a show!

My poor babies...but-OH!-so sweet when they're sleeping!
